Welcome! I'm Allison, a fine artist working in graphite pencil drawings. I am currently specializing in custom portraits. Most of my commissions are of babies and young children. I love trying to capture a child's boundless enthusiasm, burning curiosity, and effusive joy--it's an almost impossible task, but is it always fun to try!
Portrait Specialist
My goal is to bring your vision to life, preserve cherished memories, and create a one-of-a-kind piece of art your family will treasure for years to come. When you commission a portrait, we will chat via email (I love a good paper trail, don't you?) and decide on all the important details of the artwork. I will provide guidelines to help you choose the best photo(s), we'll discuss whether you want a background (yes, that costs extra because it takes more time), if there are elements of the original photo you wanted removed, etc.
Commissioning Your Portrait
When choosing a photo, it is certainly preferable to have a high quality image from a digital camera, but we live in a modern world of quickly snapped photos on a variety of devices. I am willing to work with you if you have an source image that is less than ideal, whether that is a slightly blurry phone photo, an old black and white photo from your grandparents, or a Polaroid you snapped in high school. I promise to be candid about the possible issues with the source image(s) provided and do everything I can to make your portraiture dreams a reality!
