Welcome! I'm Allison, a fine artist working predominantly in graphite pencil. I am currently specializing in custom portraits. Most of my recent commissions have been infants or young children. I love trying to capture a child's boundless enthusiasm, burning curiosity, and effusive joy--an almost impossible task, but it's always fun to try! Check out my gallery to see the most recent portraits and let me know if you have any questions about me or my work.
Portrait Specialist
My goal is to bring your vision to life, preserve cherished memories, and create a one-of-a-kind piece of art your family will treasure for years to come. When you commission a portrait, we will chat via email (I love a good paper trail, don't you?) and decide on all the important details of the artwork. I will provide guidelines to help you choose the best photo(s), we'll discuss whether you want a background, if there are elements of the original photo you want removed, etc.
Commissioning Your Portrait
When choosing a photo, it is certainly preferable to have a high quality image from a digital camera, but we live in a modern world of quickly snapped photos on a variety of devices. I am willing to work with you if you have a source image that is less than ideal, whether that is a slightly blurry phone photo, an old black and white photo from your grandparents, or a Polaroid you snapped in high school. I promise to be candid about the possible issues with the source image(s) provided and do everything I can to make your portraiture dreams a reality!
